Alina-Violeta

September 2009 was when Violeta joined the Hand of Help Orphanage family. After her divorce, Violeta's mother began a new relationship and decided to move in with her concubine, taking Violeta along with her. Unfortunately, the new man never accepted Violeta, and after the birth of Raluca, his own daughter, the situation only got worse. He would not allow Violeta to sit at the family table. He would constantly belittle Violeta and favor Raluca; Violeta had to endure many instances of physical and emotional abuse.

In time, under the repeated influence of alcohol, the concubine started abusing his own daughter, constantly expressing the desire to get rid of both girls. The local authorities tried to resolve this situation, but their efforts were in vain. The little girls suffered the most, often left hungry, thirsty, lacking the proper hygiene, and feeling abandoned and missing the warmth of a family environment.

Violeta and Raluca's neighbors decided to call for help, and it was through their intervention that Hand of Help was able to rescue the girls from the nightmare they were living in day after day. The moment they entered our premises, the sadness and suffering in their eyes, provoked by the unbearable experiences they had to go through, could be witnessed by all. However, our Lord has taken care of them and has prepared a new life for them, apart from the misery of their previous years. 

Thanks to one of our Christmas projects ("A place at your table" where the children spend the holidays with family volunteers), a Christian family decided to take Raluca into foster care after spending two years with us.

Violeta finished a three-year vocational school and got her diploma as a hairdresser. She has made significant progress throughout the years at our center, not only in her school work but also in various life skills and abilities. All her years at Hand of Help prepared her for an independent life.

 After professing her faith in Jesus Christ and getting baptized, Violeta was married in 2022 to a young believer from the western part of Romania. They both decided to work abroad for a short while and gather the necessary finances to come back home and finish renovations at their future home. 

Violeta is beloved by her new family, and we are grateful to our Lord for granting us the chance to see her start independent life next to her husband. Please continue to pray for her and her family! May our Lord always guide their steps and continue to work in their hearts!
