Danusia

Danusia R. (born in 2004) joined the Hand of Help family in 2008. After being found in the stairway of an apartment building where her mother used to find shelter, the local Child Protection Authorities asked us to take her in as an emergency case.  

Without having a proper place to live for years, her overall health and immune system were majorly affected. After her admission to our orphanage, we treated her for acute pneumonia and other illnesses due to the lack of care and nutrition.

Later on, Danusia's sisters, Andreea (born in 2006) and Lorena (born in 2007), also became a part of the Hand of Help family after spending long years in foster care. It was such a blessing to see the sisters together at last!

Danusia grew up to become a studious young girl who loved to get involved in the day-to-day activities at the orphanage. She also loved singing. Often, we would find her learning new songs with other children in our center, practicing together to sing at the special services in the church.

Danusia knew early on that she loved hairstyling. She finished a local trade school with a diploma in hairstyling/haircutting and attended an extra course specializing in the same field. Once she turned 18 and her studies were over, she decided to start independent life and move to Bucharest, the capital of Romania. 

Throughout her years with us, Danusia learned a lot. From essential skills and abilities (cooking, cleaning, home organizing, etc.) to important life lessons. Above all, Danusia heard the most important news of all – the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

We are grateful to see her become an independent young woman, and thank you for making this possible.
